Plato’s Theory of Forms
Our videos are based on content from our Who the hell is..? series of books, which take complicated theories and present them in an engaging, accessible, and jargon-free way. Take a look at our whole series, click here.
Our Philosophy section will develop to look at the life, times, and key ideas of the great philosophers of ancient and modern times. Having a reputation as a rather weighty serious subject, philosophical texts are often jam-packed full of obscure jargon or are just plain confusing, but the treasures they yield once they’re translated into everyday language is nothing less than astounding.
Philosophy poses and sets out to answer questions that affect us all as human beings, so it’s only fitting that we examine the people behind the ideas. What influenced them, at home and in the wider world? Why were they wondering about precisely these things, and in this way?
Ideas don’t exist in a vacuum. As with all our subjects in the Who the Hell is? series, Philosophy embraces the other topics and in turn takes part in a fascinating global conversation, made truly alive and accessible for the first time.
