Scientists, Philosophers, Theologians all have different opinions on Consciousness. However, they are attractive, and they are essential to humanity. My theory on Conscience is that everything boils downs to the SOUL. The soul is what leaves our body and goes to heaven when our body dies. Your soul is your conscience, and your soul is in part of your brain.
